As winter takes it's grip, don't worry too much about snow. As long as it snows before a frost the white coating can provide insulation for lawns and plants (hardy ones of course) and prevent frost damage. It can also provide a certain amount of insulation for small creatures and insects.
If you have a really heavy snowfall, however, remember to remove it from any branches of trees and shrubs (which are easily accessible, remember safety should be your main priority) and from hedges to prevent damage due to excess weight.
