Common mistakes when pruning:
1. Making the cut too far from the bud, leaving a snag.
2. Making the cut too close to the bud, damaging tissue near to the bud.
3. Sloping away from the bud at too sharp and angle.
4. Sloping towards the bud.
5. A torn, damaged or ragged cut is the perfect entry point for disease as it will not heal effectively.
